Balancing the Rhythms

Nancy Lou Canyon, LMP has been in practice as a Washington State Licensed Massage Practitioner and a Reiki Master since 1994. When her daughter was young, Nancy learned she could relieve the pain of a skinned knee or elbow by drawing her hands over the injured area.  Reiki initiation and studying Upledger CranioSacral Therapy, helped her realize her gift for locating blocked energy and releasing it from the body. Port Townsend School of Massage gave her the credentials, licensed massage practitioner, so she could help others heal themselves.

CranioSacral Therapy

As a CranioSacral therapist, I witness your energy traveling through your body, spine, and cranial bones. And as a Reiki Master, I offer energy to the places in your body that need support, filling them with energy from the Source.

I've studied Shamanic Healing practices, polarity therapy, muscle testing, somato-emotional release, sound healing, and hands-on healing. All these modalities come into play in the treatment, in an integrated way. The treatments I give alleviate aches and pains and are very relaxing.

I've been working since 1994 as a Washington State Licensed Massage Practitioner and a Reiki Master, specializing in Upledger style cranial work. I've worked on many car accident victims, healing head injuries and whiplash with light touch.  Also, concussions, dizzyness, headaches, and vision problems may resolve with cranial treatments.

With Reiki, energy comes from the universe, draws down through the crown chakra and emanates through the healer's hands into the client's body. The light forces out all blockages, healing the individual through a release of energy, and the infilling of bright light.  The hands can be placed anywhere on the body, and energy will flow to where it is needed.

With CranioSacral, the movement of energy is sometimes blocked from an injury, perhaps you've bent wrong, or bumped your head, come up under a cupboard, fallen, or slept wrong. Cranial work will balance the body's energy by releasing the blockages.  Dr. Upledger claims that cranial work strengthens the immune system, so if it does nothing other than this, it is well worth the treatment.

The hourly rate is $65.00.  New clients may take $10 off there first treatment.  Call for an appointment--360-676-6823.

Self Aura Cleaning

To remove blocked energy, use a brushing techniques with your hands to clean your aura. Work as though you are removing lint from clothing, beginning at your head and moving down to your feet, removing unwanted energy as you go. You do not have to touch the body to do this, just feel heat or cold that doesn't seem to belong and remove it, flicking or tossing it into an imaginary bucket that you can empty into an imaginary sea when you are finished.  See how you feel after you have cleaned your energy.  Brighter and more energized.

Light-touch Healing

I am a hands-on healer. The energy in my hands tingles and heats up when I place them on the body. Once I touch a person, I get impressions: congestions, twisting, streaming energy, blocked energy, pain in my body, even pictures of an event. When the energy releases, the pain diminishes for the client and for me (if I've felt the individuals pain).

My primary modality I work with is CranioSacral therapy. I am Upledger trained in both cranial work and somatoemotional release. The soma holds memory of painful events, which sometimes responds to outside stimulus through the pain body. Cranial work helps to release trauma--pain and emotion at the same time.

With cranial work, the rhythm produced by the cerebral-spinal fluid is felt all over the body. Whereever it is out of balance is where I work; I hold the area, monitoring the rhythm or lack of rhythm, and wait until it releases in a wave of heat, either widening or moving away from the body. Once released, the body shows me where to work next. Each area is connected to the next--everything is tied together when it comes to an injury. Once all the bones and tissue and fluids are balanced, the patient feels open, spacious, and in balanced in space, and deeply relaxed. Usually rest and water are recommended after a treatment.
